Extreme water poverty is not only a problem for the poor, it is everyone's problem due to the fact that it is causing overpopulation, and overpopulation causes increased global warming, increased number of refugees, deforestation, mass species extinctions, and many more issues.
With a united voice we ask and empower every developed country indexed as having 'Very High Human Development' by the United Nations, to increase or allocate enough funds for accredited NGOs to provide access to clean water for the 844 million impacted people.
The cost of solution per victim varies depending on the location of the project and the NGO's project delivery costs. For example, Charity: Water is $30 USD per person and LifeWater is $40 USD. For cost estimation we take we have estimated $40 USD per affected person but ask governments to provide funding for a particular number of affected people.
The formula used to calculate number of affected people to support per developed country is:
Country Population in 2018 X 844 million (total number of affected people)
------------------------------------------------------- (divided by) --------------------------------------------------------
1,449,799,419 (total number of people living in very high HDI Countries)
The cost per affected person is estimated at $40 USD. The formula to calculate Estimated USD Commitment is:
Number of affected people to support X $40 USD
We ask each developed country (listed in third column) to support below number of Beneficiaries (as stated in 5th column).

NGOs
Governments are recommended to choose from the below list of International NGOs which may or may not have a local office in their country to undertake their funded projects.
We ask participating NGOs to add the below details marked with * for every project on EssentialNeed.org for public information in light of centralised reporting, transparency, accountability, and cost comparison for better decision making.
We use the information in (3), (4) and (5), to estimate the cost of clean water per beneficiary per day. For example, for a project that has the following attributes:
The cost of clean water for one day per beneficiary is:
Cost per day for all beneficiaries: $20,000 / 7,300 = $2.74
Cost per beneficiary per day: $2.74 / 500 = $0.00548
With this unit of measurement better decisions can be made, accountability can increase, transparency will shine, public’s trust will be strengthened.
